Many thanks to all who made it to the End of Season Meeting.
The venue was very plush…. But the beer prices swayed the majority to look for another venue around Heathrow next year!.
Team of the Year
This was tight, runners up were Teddington and Wimbledonians, but pipping them both by one vote were……The Owls!. Many congrats to them.
All present were very impressed by the TVC web site. Alex (Owls) has done a magnificent job and a vote of thanks was due to him.
It was agreed that the link to fixtures live was mandatory, but the results section was not a true reflection and, in any case, not what the TVC was about. Alex will be asked by Steve to ‘zero out’ the results but leave the Fixtures Live link.
New Award !
Next season’s TOTY award will be joined by a new one…… Best Teas!. This would appear to be a nudge to Kulbir (Slough) to serve one of his legendary curry’s to all visiting team’s as on a couple of occasions sandwiches had been on offer!!.
Team’s for Season 2015/16
Officially confirmed so far : Owls, Ashford, Wimbledonians, Merlins, Sunbury, Marlow, Teddington, Slough Ramgahria.
Dennis (Meadhurst) advised he would be able to confirm after their AGM. This season had been tough and he offered thanks to all clubs who had loaned players to get their matches on. Everyone present wanted Meadhurst to continue and would help in any way to ensure Meadhurst can continue in the TVC.
New Team’s for next season
Steve and Alex produced a spreadsheet with contacts for other clubs in the area and an e-mailshot will be sent.
The list was reviewed and any club that was considered too far out of the area was removed.
Steve will also send the list to Captains who were asked to pick a club or two and lobby them directly. This personal approach would probably bring more success.
Emergency Fixtures Report
David (Teddington) said this had been successful and links forged with the other social leagues in our area. He is happy to continue next season. Many thanks David.
Next Season’s fixture dates.
Although not discussed in detail, it was noted Easter falls early in 2016 and the ‘free’ week end at February half term might not be possible. When the number of teams are known Steve will consider this in the fixtures. However, the first week will be 4th October.
Alex is in contact with the organisers of the Wessex Cup. Owls, Teddington, Ashford, have expressed an interest in entering. This will probably start in September before the ‘official’ fixtures. If anyone lese has a change of heart call Steve.
Player Float ?
It was agreed that if a team did not have a game, the Captain would have the option to offer any of his players to other sides who may be short.
All that was needed was a ‘quick’ e-mail to all the other TVC teams. A good idea indeed!.
Meeting Closed at 2200.
