TVC Forms New Playing Network

With a common interest in securing the future of social veterans hockey we’ve all been busy promoting the game for our clubs to attract regular players.  Keeping players fit and available whilst competing with busy schedules is a constant effort.  For example, The Owls have a contact  list of 22 but can only expect 10-12 players each week.  Steve Edwards wanted to continue to promote social TVC hockey by donating the website before retiring, while I know team captains do their utmost each week to get a team out. Individual efforts and a collective approach using  www.tvchockey.co.uk has really helped to reach out to people.

Going one step further we’ve also been busy contacting other leagues in the area, again with a view to promote social vets hockey. Our own ‘better together’ campaign has reached out to Robert Kenwrick who organises the Wessex Supervets Fixtures Alliance (see http://www.wsfa.co.uk/) and Tony Hilton who organises Veterans Hockey Conference in the South London area (see Veterans Hockey Conference).  A wider network will strengthen that belief that games in the local area are regularly available.  Their contact details are now available in ‘Need a Fixture?

The TVC will issue fixtures during the summer as usual and operate as the TVC for the coming seasons, however it will be stronger in that spare fixture dates can be filled as well as new friends made.

Clubs and players wishing to join the TVC to reduce travel or simply fill some slots are very welcome.  Please contact the TVC clubs direct for a game or email info@tvchockey.co.uk to get your club included on the 2015/16 fixtures.
